Entities participating in the Essentials in Writing Platform Licensing Fee Program—including charter schools, hybrid schools, private schools, co-ops, learning centers, and all other educational organizations—are not eligible for refunds after purchase.
Exchanges are permitted for eligible materials; however, all shipping costs associated with exchanges are the responsibility of the purchasing entity.
Renewal Policy
Programs purchased under the Platform Licensing Fee structure are not renewable.
If an entity wishes to continue using Essentials in Writing in subsequent school years, a new purchase is required for each academic year. This includes:
- The annual Platform Licensing Fee
- Any student workbooks
- Assessment Resource Books (ARBs)
- Teacher Handbooks
- Required novels or literature materials
- Any other applicable à la carte curriculum components
All required materials must be purchased for each new school year and for each enrolled student, as the Platform Licensing Fee provides a one-year license and does not include renewal pricing or automatic continuation.
